The immune response fights cancer, and much effort has been devoted to developing strategies that stimulate immune cells to eliminate tumors from the body. The CD40 antibody is a key player in this process, but can produce toxicity when applied in high doses. Dr. Dahan’s lab is investigating ways to generate new versions of CD40 in the hopes of creating an optimized human antibody for cancer immunotherapy.
