Niv Papo, PhD
Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a large family of enzymes whose abnormal activities contribute to cancer progression. Despite extensive efforts, there are no clinically approved therapeutic agents specific to individual MMPs. Prof. Papo’s team is working to engineer novel inhibitors for these well-established chemical targets in cancer therapy. Based on the results of multiple studies, they will craft approaches to enhance specificity that make these inhibitors useful in the clinic.
