ICRF welcomes four new members to the International Board of Trustees

Jordanna Feifer, Montreal, Canada

Jordanna Feifer is a corporate lawyer having received a combined Law/Master’s degree from Oxford University. She holds an honors undergraduate degree from McGill University (major in political science). Jordanna is a seasoned attorney having worked for many years in the corporate/securities law group of a major Bay Street law firm. She specialized in prospectus offerings and private placements. She has also worked as an attorney at the Ontario Securities Commission and as legal counsel at RBC Dexia Investor Services (now RBC Investor and Treasury Services) heading up the legal integration of the investor services businesses of the Royal Bank of Canada and Dexia Bank.

On the philanthropic front, Jordanna has used her expertise in finance and her business acumen to assist in securing anchor sponsorship for Lake Ontario Waterkeepers which resulted in an award-winning TIFF event (“Blue”). Over the years, Jordanna has also actively recruited key talent in spearheading various philanthropic projects.

Jordanna lives in Montreal with her husband and two children.

Leslie Freedman, Stamford, CT

Leslie R. Freedman is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst in private practice in Stamford, CT and New York City. With over forty years in practice, he works primarily with adults and couples. In addition, he consults with synagogue Boards of Trustees on matters of governance and succession. Leslie has been the Chair of the ICRF Connecticut Chapter’s Board since 2018.

A native of Montreal and graduate of McGill, Leslie went on to The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York where he was ordained and taught Bible. He earned his Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from City University of New York. Leslie and his wife divide their time between Connecticut, New York City, and Montreal.

Len Mark, Stamford, CT

Len Mark is a committed Zionist and a devoted volunteer to his synagogue, community, and Israel. He has served United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, Darien, and New Canaan as Vice President-Finance, Vice President-Education, Vice President-Allocations, and three times as Major Gifts Chair of its Annual Campaign. Len sat on the board of the Stamford Housing Development Fund, is a founding Board member and was treasurer of Kulanu, the Stamford supplemental Jewish High School, was a two-time board member of Congregation Agudath Sholom and a long-term chair of its House committee. He was also president of Revonah Woods Property Owners Association and a member of the Board of Trustees of Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy and Chair for its dinner dance.   

Len is president of Shoreline Management Company. He was a builder and is a property manager. He studied Economics at New York University.  

Len has been married to Susan for 41 years and is a very proud and involved father, grandfather (with his 8th grandchild on the way), uncle, great uncle, cousin and stepbrother. His beloved sister, Gloria, succumbed to ovarian cancer, and his mother died from breast cancer when she was just 38 years old.

Gerald Soff, MD, Miami Beach, FL

Gerald A. Soff MD is a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the General Hematology Service at the University of Miami Health System/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He began his medical career path at Johns Hopkins University where he obtained his Medical Degree and then spent a year at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv on a Fulbright fellowship. Upon returning to the USA, Gerald did a research post-doctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1991, upon completing his training, he moved to Chicago, where he spent 15 years on the faculty at Northwestern University. He then returned to New York, where he spent 3 years at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and later moved to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to establish and serve as chief of the Hematology Service. In 2021, after 15 years in New York, he moved to Miami to assume his current position. 

Gerald is a consulting hematologist, with a specific focus on blood disorders in cancer patients. His recent work has focused on management of thrombosis (abnormal blood clotting) and thrombocytopenia (low platelets) in cancer patients. He has held national and international leadership positions and is a co-chair of the Scientific Subcommittee on Hemostasis and Malignancy for the International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis.
