KRIS CARR

Best-selling author, filmmaker and health advocate. She is the subject of the uplifting documentary, Crazy Sexy Cancer. The film, which she wrote and directed for TLC and the Oprah Winfrey Network, chronicles her adventure of living and thriving with stage-four cancer.

Her companion book series, Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips (foreword by singer/ songwriter Sheryl Crow), and Crazy Sexy Cancer Survivor (foreword by Marianne Williamson) have been translated into nine languages. These stigma smashing life-lines have been deemed ‘must have” guides to rebuilding the body and spirit in order to triumph over disease. Carr recounts her courageous journey of survival and shares every step of her journey to wellness in a practical, funny and endearing style. In addition, Carr provides invaluable tips for choosing the right doctor, learning to live in a self-nurturing manner, rebuilding self-esteem, as well as how to fight cancer with your fork.

Kris Carr takes audiences on her inspirational journey about living a full and healthy life with cancer survival. As an irreverent foot soldier in the fight against disease, Carr inspires countless individuals and their families to make the link between their personal health and the health of the planet. Kris Carr’s witty anecdotes, diet advice, and tops for overcoming adversity motivate her audiences to think outside the box in order to become empowered participants in health and healing.

Mandy is one of the founders and owners of Mandy’s Restaurants based in Montreal. She splits her time between creating recipes, raising her kids and volunteering with Welcome Collective.

Rebecca is one of the founders and owners of Mandy’s Restaurants based in Montreal. She enjoys creating design content for branding and interiors. She’s busy raising her three kids, making salads and helping newcomers settle into Montreal.


NATHALIE HAZAN
FOUNDER & PRESIDENT, RAISON D’ART

In the past 25 years, Nathalie has worked as a social entrepreneur, an artist and a psychotherapist. Her love for art and her commitment to societal change are the driving forces behind Raison d’art, a non-profit that creates collective art experiences for social impact. She has produced work for Canadian and international clients in France, Switzerland, Israel, Hong Kong and the United States.Her most recent project PortraitX, funded by Public Health Canada, uses art and technology to intervene, research and start larger conversations that will prevent gender-based violence in high schools.

Recent recipient of the New Investigator award from the Terry Fox Research Institute, Dr. Garzia will study how and why certain sarcomas metastasize with the hope that by identifying early signs of metastatic dissemination she will be able to know what tumours are more at risk of becoming metastatic and find new treatments for children and young adults with these cancers. Dr. Garzia is also the recipient of the 2018 Brain Canada-Canadian Cancer Society Innovation Grant awarded for her work on the possible causative link between altered neural activity and pediatric brain tumors called medulloblastomas.

DALE BOIDMAN,

A two-time survivor of breast cancer, Dale was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Montreal in 1950. She is married with three children and four grand children. Dale graduated from Columbia University, NYC with a B.Sc. in Nursing. She practiced psychiatric nursing, taught psychiatric nursing in CGEP and was Head Nurse and Co-ordinator of Child Psychiatry, Jewish General Hospital, Montreal. She was previously the Executive Director of the Bronfman Jewish Education Centre in Montreal.
