Oral Cancer Statistics
  • Oral cancer includes cancers of the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses, and pharynx.
  • About 50,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with oral cancer each year. Men, over 50 years old, face twice the risk of developing oral cancer than women.
  • Treatments include surgery to remove the cancerous growth, followed by radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy to destroy any remaining cancer cells.
