In these dark times, Israel Cancer Research Fund will remain committed to its core mission: supporting the Israeli researchers who do the foundational science that makes cancer treatments and cures possible. Many of our researchers are currently serving as reservists, providing care in hospitals, or sheltering and securing the safety of their loved ones, while simultaneously continuing to ensure that their research moves forward.

The adversity we face cannot deter us from our vital mission of ending the global suffering caused by cancer. It’s crucial to continue our mission to secure the resources needed for research in the coming year and demonstrate our unwavering support for Israel. We will continue to support the scientists in Israel because we believe that they are our greatest hope for ending the suffering caused by cancer. This year, our goal is to raise funds towards a new Research Career Development Award (RCDA) grant.

RCDA grants are awarded to promising early career scientists who have recently established their own laboratories and are on their way to becoming outstanding independent investigators. 

Researchers who have begun their careers with RCDA awards have gone on to make significant contributions to cancer science, including Nobel Prize laureate Aaron Ciechanover, MD, DSc; Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, PhD, whose research team developed the first 3D printed model of a living malignant tumor; and Ariel Munitz, PhD, whose team has pioneered research using immune systems cells that typically fight allergies and parasitic infections to fight cancer.

Now, more than ever, Israel’s scientists need your support to move forward with the mission of ending the suffering caused by cancer.
