Judy Gold

Emmy Award-winning actor, comedian, and author Judy Gold is known for her tv appearances, including Better Things and The First Lady. She is the author of Yes I Can Say That: When They Come For The Comedians, We Are All In Trouble, a critically acclaimed book about free speech and cancel-culture that was featured in the New York Times Book Review. In addition to My Life as a Sitcom (Outer Critics Circle Nomination) and 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother (GLAAD Media Award – Outstanding NY Theater, Drama Desk Nomination – Actor), her current solo show, Yes I Can Say That!, premiered in March 2023 and received rave reviews. Judy is also the host of the hit podcast Kill Me Now with Judy Gold and will be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

Leslie R. Freedman, PhD

Leslie R. Freedman, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst in private practice in Stamford, CT, and New York City. With over forty years in practice, he works primarily with adults and couples. In addition, he consults with synagogue Boards of Trustees on matters of governance and succession. Leslie was the Chair of the ICRF Connecticut Chapter’s Board from 2018–2022. He is also on the ICRF International Board of Trustees Executive Committee.

COMMUNITY HERO HONOREE
Rabbi Mitch Hurvitz

Rabbi Mitchell M. Hurvitz is the Senor Rabbi at Temple Sholom in Greenwich. He is a scholar, teacher, community activist and preacher, and is recognized as one of the prominent religious leaders in the Greenwich area and beyond. He is a noted authority within the Conservative movement on how to create a welcoming environment for Interfaith families in congregations. An author of numerous popular and scholarly articles, he has also written the “Introduction to the Jewish Faith” and the Encyclopedia of Judaism for publisher Facts on File. He is the Co-Founder of The Sholom Center for Interfaith Learning & Fellowship. Rabbi Hurvitz is also an outspoken advocate for cancer research in the community.
