Humanitarian Award: Jennifer McGuffin

Jennifer McGuffin is the Chief Communications Officer at the law firm Romanucci & Blandin, the immediate past chair of the Susan G. Komen Chicago Leadership Council and a breast cancer survivor.

Jennifer has more than 25 years of experience in public relations with positions at Romanucci & Blandin, Adtalem Global Education, Calamos Investments and Culloton + Bauer Luce.

Leadership Award: Richard Herman

Richard Herman is the former Chancellor of The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His tenure was characterized by the twin goals of promoting excellence and increasing access. Richard spent the largest portion of his professional career in academic positions at the University of Rochester, UCLA, Penn State, the University of Maryland, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as Provost and Chancellor. His advice on science policy was sought at a national level.

He joined the ICRF Board of Directors after losing his wife, Susan, to a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
