ICRF Project Grant Recipient

Be inspired by a brilliant breast cancer researcher pioneering groundbreaking ideas to transform the future of treatments and survivorship. Born in Israel, Dr. Gil-Henn obtained her PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and performed postdoctoral research at Yale University. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine at Bar-Ilan University.

Breast cancer, the most common cancer diagnosed in women, is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Metastasis, the spread of cancer to other parts of the body, is the usual cause of mortality from this disease and an important target for therapeutic intervention. During her research work, Dr. Gil-Henn identified a molecular pathway that promotes cell movement, and she is now trying to develop a potential treatment to block the metastatic dissemination of breast cancer cells.
