Publication Alert: Prof. Shai Izraeli on Liquid Biopsy for Children with Neuroblastoma

ICRF-funded researcher Prof. Shai Izraeli co-authored a study demonstrating a new liquid biopsy approach that uses DNA methylation patterns to detect and monitor high-risk neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer, regardless of whether the tumor has identifiable genetic mutations. The method accurately detected cancer at diagnosis and relapse, showed no detectable signal in healthy individuals or patients in confirmed remission, and outperformed existing copy number–based approaches.

This approach could enable earlier intervention and improve disease monitoring for children with high-risk neuroblastoma.
