ICRF Grantee and Nobel Laureate Prof. Aaron Ciechanover Explores New Approach for Blood Cancers

Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, an ICRF-funded researcher and Nobel laureate, and his team are exploring PROTACs. These are a promising new class of cancer treatments that can target and destroy specific proteins cancer cells need to survive. Research suggests PROTACs may help slow cancer growth, trigger cancer cell death, and overcome resistance to existing treatments. While challenges such as drug delivery and potential side effects remain, PROTACs could offer a new approach to treating lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

The research was published in the peer-reviewed journal, Molecular Chemical Therapeutics, which is a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
