The Legacy Fund: Fueling Israel’s Next Trailblazing Cancer Scientists

By joining this unprecedented effort, you’re ensuring that our founders’ vision is now a legacy — one that continues for generations into the future.

For every $1 million endowed as part of our Legacy Fund, you’ll sustain an ongoing three-year Research Career Development Award (RCDA) at a current value of $148,500 — or $49,500 each year — to empower promising young researchers on the cusp of scientific breakthroughs to pursue groundbreaking discoveries.

RCDAs are specifically awarded to early-career scientists driving innovative research that shows promise for positive outcomes. Many of Israel’s leading scientists today launched their careers with the support of an RCDA, which allowed them to establish labs, make significant discoveries, and gain recognition within both local and international scientific communities. Nurturing emerging talent is key to bringing us closer to a cure and cementing Israel’s role as a global leader in cancer research.

Endowing an RCDA not only supports an emerging cancer scientist, but it also leverages everything that makes Israel the “start-up nation.” It fortifies the country’s scientific ecosystem while boosting its economy and leveraging innovation. There’s never been a timelier moment to sustain Israel, give prominence to its positive contributions to the world, and demonstrate our profound confidence in talented Israeli scientists.

“Looking backwards and taking into consideration that my first ICRF fellowship as a young researcher (studying at the M.I.T.) was awarded in 1981, and that since then I have been supported almost successively by this wonderful organization, I assume I am the longest supported ICRF researcher — more than FOUR decades in a row. There is no doubt I owe much of my success and the international recognition and accolades I have received to the generous support of ICRF and its amazing supporters, a debt I feel I shall never be able to repay.”
