![]() ICRF ChaptersChicago Fellowship Circle 2005 This program is an opportunity for an individual to join with others and contribute a group fellowship in support of a doctor in Israel. Our Fellowship Circle event for 2005 was held at the home of Blanche Keno on January 18, 2005. Her gracious hospitality was appreciated by all who attended. Our guest speaker was Dr. Tapas K. Das Gupta, Professor and Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology and Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He spoke on the Current Status of Cancer Research in Israel- An Outsider’s Perspective. He praised the work of the doctors in Israel, and ICRF research doctors in particular, for the excellent work that they do and for the choices they make in the projects they choose. For the past three years we have supported Dr. Dan Hershko of the Rambam Medical Center. He is examining the role of two cell-cycle regulatory proteins as markers for prognosis and tumor behavior in breast and colon cancers. Identifying the molecular mechanisms responsible for tumor aggressiveness may lead to the development of better treatment modalities for these cancers. Membership in the Fellowship Circle is $1000 a year and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events. CHICAGO FELLOWSHIP CIRCLE 2005 Mr. and Mrs. Scott Bieber Dr. and Mrs. Tapak K.
